This was the first of five sculptures made for the Hideaway
pizza chain in Oklahoma. They had this character, called the
"Kahuna", for years as a 2-D drawing. We sculpted a maquette
based on that drawing, and enlarged it from a digital scan.
The sculpture had a steel armature that strengthens all
of
his limbs, and even his apron. The sculpture was then finished
out, hard coated, and painted.
